I want to subscribe after Chapter 1 was released
Don't worry. The Yearly and Monthly subscriptions always start from the beginning, with Chapter 1.
Unless of course you have already experienced a Chapter or two, in which case, contact us at email@example.com with your order number and we will start you from the Chapter that you are up to. If you have added a "note" at checkout, please be advised we may miss this note and recommend reaching out directly to our customer support.
Has my package shipped?
You will receive a confirmation email once your package has been shipped.
All subscriptions are sent during the third week of the month, regardless of purchase date.
All non subscription orders are fulfilled typically within 2-3 business days post purchase.
If Express Shipping option is selected, the link in the shipping confirmation email for tracking will be valid. If Economy Shipping option was selected, the link for tracking will not work as tracking is not available for Economy Shipping.
When do you ship each Chapter?
As a small company of 6 members, we work hard to dispatch orders as quickly as possible.
Monthly or Yearly Subscriptions:
All orders received after the 15th of the month will be fulfilled during the third week of the following month. We begin fulfillment from the 3rd week of each month after the 16th. Fulfillment typically takes a week to complete.
For instance, if you ordered on the 24th of the month, you will wait until the next fulfillment window of the 3rd week of the following month for us to send your order to the postal service.
1-Off Purchases (Singles or Bundles):
All 1-off purchase orders are fulfilled on a biweekly basis. Once orders have been pulled to fulfill, it typically takes a week for us to process, package and label before it is brought to the postal service.
You will receive a shipping confirmation email once your order has been shipped.
What if my order hasn't arrived yet?
We have worked very hard as a team to make sure these were dispatched as quickly as possible.
Please be patient with us as the actual delivery and postal delays are out of our hands in this unprecedented time. Any frustration felt by you is felt by the six of us, we assure you.

What is in each Chapter?
Each Chapter uses a combination of sturdy, substantive paper-engineered craft facsimile items and documents to immerse players in a tactile puzzle experience.
It is indeed a paper-based experience, but one in which working with paper objects is as important as solving the puzzles themselves.
Given the nature of the product, the method of shipment and the cost of production; the envelopes do not include large physical artifacts.
I’m stuck on a puzzle, what do I do?
Don’t fret! Every Chapter of The Curious Correspondence Club is fully supported by a digital hint library on our website.
Each Chapter contains a Contents card that features a link to the hints. Every puzzle is explained through incremental hints, from subtle nudges, all the way to complete solutions. Because these hints are elective, you can experience the level of difficulty to your liking!

What should I look out for in the mail?
All our individual Chapters arrive in a custom 5" x 10" envelope that will fit in most mailboxes or PO Boxes. The sender section will say Curious Correspondence Club and there will be a sticker indicating the Chapter on the reverse side of the envelope.
All our Bundles arrive in a 8.5" x 11" manila envelopes with the individual Chapter envelopes within. There will be a label indicating it is being sent from the Curious Correspondence Club.
Our experiences do not come in a crate or box and signatures are not required upon receipt.
Is this related to the Mysterious Package Company?
The Curious Correspondence Club is an independent studio offering approachable and affordable experiences. Designed and produced by Alumni of The Mysterious Package Company, our small team of makers delivers a custom envelope chock-full of puzzles and intrigue to your door.
How many Chapters are there?
We’re excited to release a new Chapter every month!
The adventure unfolds as a serialized anthology, with twelve individual Chapters in a Season. Each Chapter works just as well as a stand-alone puzzle story - where there is a clear beginning and a final answer to each Chapter. You are not required to have the answer from the previous Chapter to enjoy further Chapters.
There is a meta storyline and puzzle that connects all the Chapters together at the end of each Season.
The first episode of The Curious Correspondence Club: ‘Chapter I: The Custodian’s Keys’, was released August 2020.
How long does a Chapter take to complete?
Each Chapter takes an average of 60-90 minutes to solve, though players can work through them at their own pace.
How difficult is it? Are there different levels of difficulty?
Players ages 12+ are likeliest to be able to solve our puzzles independently; players younger than this may require guidance from an adult.
However, we provide an elective hint system which allows the experience to be an enjoyable challenge for players of all ages and stages.
By choosing how many hints you want for each puzzle, you can choose the level of difficulty to your liking!
The hints system is not searchable through our website. To access the hints library, there is a contents card within each Chapter. On the reverse of said card, there will be the link to our hints system.
Is this a group activity or is it meant for individuals?
Our puzzles are designed to be played either solo or collaboratively, and each Chapter is a perfect activity for family, friends or learning groups.
Do I need to experience the Chapters in a specific order?
The Curious Correspondence Club is a serialized adventure, with each Chapter enjoyable as a standalone experience. You are not required to have the answer from a previous Chapter in order to move forward in the Season.
Although there are connections between Chapters that gradually reveal a broader narrative, it is not necessary to complete the Chapters in order, or to complete all Chapters, in order to enjoy or engage in the story.
Can I pass along the Chapters to be played again?
Each Chapter is completely paper-based where some puzzles may require the player to manipulate the paper in one way or another. Whether it is to construct or fold or perhaps to make markings on the pieces, once manipulated the pieces will not be the same for the next player.
Given the nature of the product, we will not recommend to pass the Chapter along to someone else. The next player will not be able to enjoy the immersive experience the same way as the initial player.
How many mailings is each Chapter?
Every Chapter of The Curious Correspondence Club is delivered within a single custom envelope each month. Furthermore, as part of our commitment to reducing waste, and maximising every element of your experience, the envelope itself bears a portion of the Chapter.
Help! I think something is missing from my experience.
Each Chapter comes with a contents card that lists all the items that should be within each envelope.

Can I order this as a gift for somebody else?
You can certainly order our experience as a gift. Please enter your recipient's information in the shipping information section.
However, we do not currently include a customized reveal message alongside subscription orders. You may include a one time personalized message in the "notes" section during checkout for all other one time order options. Our team will add in your note during fulfillment. We also recommend you to reveal yourself as the gift-giver to the recipient if you are not including a personalized message. We may also suggest for you to let your recipient know to expect a Curious Correspondence in the mail as to not mistaken for spam mail.
What are the different types of Membership?
To ensure we offer a membership that’s right for you, we’re pleased to offer three different ways to play:
• Monthly Subscription: receive a new Chapter of the story for $19.95 USD each month. This is a recurring subscription. You can cancel at any time.
• Yearly Subscription: pay up-front and save. Receiving twelve Chapters of the Season delivered monthly for $179.00 USD
• Season 1 and Season 2 for a bundled price of $329.00 USD upfront.
• Pre-Paid Memberships 3 Months $60.00 USD
• Pre-Paid Membership 6 Months $100.00 USD
• 1-Off Purchases: purchase a single Chapter for $21.95 USD or a Bundle of 3 Chapters for $60.00 USD.

Can you tell me more about the Monthly Subscription?
A Monthly Subscription to The Curious Correspondence Club means you will receive a brand new Chapter each month, for a recurring monthly payment of $19.95USD. This payment will be charged on the 15th of a given month.
Because we are a boutique studio, we have a single monthly billing and shipping cycle to keep everything simple and streamlined. Each month, your card will be charged on the 15th, and we will dispatch your next Chapter within the following week.
You can cancel your monthly subscription at any time, but you must do so 48 hours prior to the 15th of a given month to avoid billing for that month’s Chapter. Once the monthly charge has been processed, any subscription cancellations will be reflected on the following month. Charges processed cannot be reversed as fulfillment of these orders are processed immediately.

Can you tell me more about the Yearly Subscription?
A Yearly Subscription to The Curious Correspondence Club means that, for the one-off fee of $179.00USD, you will receive a brand new Chapter each month, for twelve consecutive months. A year's subscription amounts to twelve Chapters for the price of nine! Your yearly membership will auto-renew annually for the following Seasons.
Because we are a boutique studio, we have a single shipping cycle to keep everything simple and streamlined. Each month, we will dispatch your next Chapter during the 3rd week of the month.
Please note: A yearly subscription is non-refundable; however, it will always represent the best value per Chapter. When a yearly subscription is cancelled, we will continue to send you the 12 Chapters that was paid for; but the system will not renew your subscription for the following Season.

What if I have already done Chapter I?
We can certainly start your subscription from a different Chapter. We just need to be notified to manually override the system.
If you want a monthly subscription, simply buy a new monthly subscription. Send a message with your order number and which Chapter you'll like your new subscription to continue from to email@example.com and we will make notes to ensure you begin your subscription where you left off.
If you want to get a yearly subscription, buy the full yearly subscription and send us a message at firstname.lastname@example.org with your order number and the Chapter you'll like to continue from. We will then refund you the months that were already completed and make notes to start your subscription where you left off.
What if I don’t want to commit to a subscription?
You can purchase 1-off experiences as you go. You can either purchase single Chapters or opt to purchase our Bundles which include multiple Chapters within each package.
It's cheaper in the long run to subscribe though, and you can cancel a Monthly subscription at any time.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your Monthly or Yearly Subscription at any time; however, you cannot cancel a Yearly subscription within the subscribed year.
When a Monthly Subscription is cancelled, our system will not be charging you for anymore Chapters and we will not be sending you the following Chapters.
When a Yearly Subscription is cancelled, our system will not be charging you for the following 12-month Season. However, we will continue to send you all the remainder Chapters from the Season you purchased on a monthly basis. We cannot cancel your Yearly Subscription mid-season and refund you the remainder balance.
To cancel the automatic renewal of your subscription, you must do one of the following to avoid being charged for the next renewal period:
- Update your user account through the website at least forty eight (48) hours prior to your renewal date. You must log into your account on the website to cancel the subscription. To log in, you must ensure your account was activated through the initial activate email sent when you placed your original purchase.
- Send an email to email@example.com at least forty eight (48) hours prior to your renewal date to request the subscription's cancellation.
How do I play the experience? How do I start?
Each adventure begins with an episodic introduction. Once read, you should find that it points you towards your first clue.
If you’ve read the introduction and you’re still having trouble knowing where to start, you can follow the link on the contents card to all the hints for that episode.
If I get stuck, can I have a hint? How many hints do I get?
If you're in need of a hint, big or small, you can follow the link found on the contents card. There you will find a library of hints for every step of the Chapter.
Select the particular puzzle or stage of the Chapter you’d like help with, and from there you can decide how big you want the hint to be - BUT BE CAREFUL! You can’t unsee a solution! Make sure you really want to know the hint in question!
How will I know if I’m finished?
Each Chapter will ask you to solve a unique final puzzle. Either the introduction of the story, or someone you meet on your adventures, will outline your ultimate task each month.
Once you think you have solved the unique final puzzle, visit the link on the reverse side of the Contents Card. From the link, click on "I HAVE FINISHED" to submit your answer to see if you've solved the experience correctly.
I've finished! What do I do next?
Once you think you’ve solved the puzzle you can follow the link on the reverse of the Contents Card found within each Chapter. There, you’ll be asked to share your discovery. If correct, you’ll unlock the conclusion and be ready for next month's Chapter.
How do I log into my account?
- To log in, you must ensure your account was activated through the initial activate email sent when you placed your original purchase.
- Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to have this Account Activation email resent if necessary.
Do I need an account to place an order?
Nope! You will be able to check out with a customer account or as a guest.
Do I need an account to play the experience?
You do not need an account in order to play through the Chapters or to access the hints system. If you had purchased the experience as a gift, you do not need to share your account login details with the gift receiver either.
An account allows you to keep track of processed orders and for you to update your subscription status, your credit card information on file and your shipping information.
What currency do you use?
All our prices on our Online Store are listed in your local currency, based on your current location.
For example, if you are in Canada, it will show the amount in CAD; if you are in USA, it will show you the amount in USD.
The currency used at checkout is in USD. At this time, we are unable to process payments in any other currencies besides USD.
Canadian/International Customer, but displaying as USD at checkout
Unfortunately this is a known issue with our system provider. The current platform we use to host our subscription-based product is a US based company and they do not allow us to change the currency or add an additional currency.
We are looking for viable solutions but have not found any yet. We do apologize for the inconvenience as this has been frustrating on our part too being a Canadian company.
When will I be billed for my subscription?
We are a small studio, as such we will have a single billing cycle to keep our process streamlined. This means each month your card will be charged on the 15th and we will begin shipping that month’s installments starting from the 16th. The fulfillment period typically takes a week to complete.
How will my purchase appear on a Credit Card Statement?
Subscription payments and purchases from The Curious Correspondence Club will appear on credit card statements as CURIOUS CORRESPONDENCE.
Do prices include sales tax?
The listed prices on our website do not include local sales tax. However, prior to finalizing payment, all purchases are charged the appropriate taxes based on your billing address provided. These will also be displayed on the invoice attached to your confirmation email.
A note about payment security
The security of our customers' personal and credit card information is paramount to The Curious Correspondence Club. We run our store from the Shopify platform and, as such, your details are secured by their well established security systems. You can be sure that you have entered a secure area as a small padlock symbol will appear in the address bar of your browser.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept all major Credit Cards for all orders.
PayPal can only be accepted for 1-off Chapters and cannot be accepted for subscription products.
How do I use a promo code?
You can enter a promotional code at checkout to receive the corresponding discount on your purchase.
I received an alert regarding failed payment, what do I do?
For our monthly subscribers, on the 15th of each month, our system will automatically process your credit card on file for the next Chapter. If there has been a failed payment attempt, the system will automatically send you an email to notify you of the failed payment. You will have 24 hours to login into your account to update the credit card information on file before the system will try to process the payment again.
After 3 consecutive attempts and there is still a failed payment, the system will automatically cancel your subscription and no Chapters will be sent out for that month. To reactivate your subscription after the system automatically cancels your subscription, simply email email@example.com and our team will assist you to reactivate your subscription.
How much is shipping?
We’re happy to say that shipping is FREE in North America for subscription-based purchases and for orders of just single chapters.
All bundles and bulk purchases will incur the appropriate shipping charges at checkout.
Please note that tracking information is only available for Express shipping options.
Can I track my delivery?
Tracking is not available for all subscriptions and single purchases where shipping is included with your order. Economy Shipping also does not include tracking information.
Tracking is only available on items where you have paid for a shipping cost at checkout. Tracking information will be provided through your account. You must log into your account to view any tracking information attached your particular order.

How long will a Chapter take to reach me?

Where will my order be shipped from?
The Curious Correspondence Club is proudly crafted in and shipped from Toronto, Canada.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes! As a boutique studio, we currently offer shipping internationally to most countries. If you are unsure if you qualify for international shipping, please refer to our drop down menu at checkout.
If you do not see your desired country for shipment in the drop down menu at checkout, please reach out to our support team at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Can I cancel or amend my order?
You can cancel your Monthly Subscription at any time, but please note you must do so prior to the 15th of a given month to avoid billing for that month’s Chapter. After billing of a month's Chapter has been processed, any cancellation will be reflected on the following month.
Any name change or address updates should be sent to email@example.com twenty four (24) hours prior to a given months billing cycle.
For all non subscription orders any name change or address updates should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org within twenty four (24) hours after placing your order.
Do you ship to PO Boxes?
All our single order Chapters comes in a 5"x10" envelope and will fit in most PO Boxes.
Can I delay shipping my order?
Yes, we can delay shipping your order. We need to manually override the system.

Will I be charged custom fees or import duties for international shipping?
Not for single Chapters or Subscriptions - as the episodes are dispatched in envelopes delivered by Canada Post, USPS or FedEx.
Bundles and multiple chapter purchases may be subject to VAT and import fees for our international customers.
Can I return my purchase?
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept any returns.
We are unable to repackage your Chapter for another customer. If you received a duplicate copy of the Chapter in error, please notify us at firstname.lastname@example.org immediately.
Which courier service do you use?
Single purchases Chapters and Subscriptions:
Within Canada are shipped via Canada Post.
Within the United States are shipped via USPS.
Internationally are shipped via Canada Post.
